On 12 February 2025, the Hanifaru Management Action Plan 2025–2030 was officially launched in Baa Atoll Eydhafushi together with the support of the Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP).

Mr.Ahmed Afrah, President of the Baa Atoll Council, inaugurated the plan marking a significant milestone in the sustainable management and conservation of Hanifaru Bay— one of the Maldives’ most vital marine protected areas.

This initiative strengthens conservation efforts, ensuring the long-term protection of manta rays, whale sharks, and the unique biodiversity of Hanifaru Bay for future generations.
