Operations training for the Mendhoo Surveillance System was conducted in Eydhafushi under the Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) grant from 2nd to 6th February 2025.
Experts from Sirius Insight, UK, led the training with participants from the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office, the Ministry of Environment, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in attendance.
This marks the first time this technology is being used for environmental monitoring in the Maldives.
By enhancing surveillance capabilities, this initiative strengthens efforts to protect the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve and supports long-term conservation in the region.
